Resin and mixed media on canvas · 77 × 61cm · framed in white
This painting was made with love, and with loving in mind. Rich raspberry pink glows across the top, softening into blush and peach. Through the middle, a wave of creamy white breaks over swirls of inky black, flecked with tiny bubbles and bursts of colour, before a ribbon of coral pink sweeps across, light and free. Below, the pinks return in soft, marbled bands, calm and tender.
LOVE began with Rachel's resin paintings of Huka Falls in New Zealand, where the river roars through a narrow gorge in a rush of white water. Here she moved further and further away from the waterfall itself, into pure abstraction, keeping only the feeling of energy, movement and joy.
As with all of Rachel's resin work, it looks free and fluid but was carefully planned. Resin gives her just four minutes before it sets as hard as rock, so every colour and every pour had to be decided in advance. The result is a glossy, jewel-like surface that seems to glow from within.
Romantic and joyful, it would make a beautiful feature above a bed, a wedding present or a heartfelt gift for someone special.
Original, one of a kind. Signed by the artist.
Also available as a canvas print.
Materials + Care
For original paintings: painted on canvas or board using acrylic, resin or mixed media. Hang away from direct sunlight and damp. Dust gently with a soft dry cloth. Do not clean with water or solvents. For canvas prints: printed on a poly-cotton blend canvas with a matte/satin finish, scratch, crack and warp resistant. Wipe gently with a barely damp cloth if needed. For paper prints: printed on premium fine art paper. Handle with care — avoid moisture and direct sunlight to preserve colours.
