Oil on canvas. 47 x 57 x 3 cm (framed)
There is a cove on the Cornish coast that Rachel Jeffery has known all her life. Rinsey — tucked below the cliffs, accessible only on foot, known to those who seek it out. A place of dark rock, clear water and a particular quality of silence.
This small, intimate oil painting captures a moment of complete stillness — a figure waist-deep in the water, back turned, golden hair loose, completely absorbed in the cove around her. She is not performing. She is simply there. Present. Belonging.
Painted in the cool, luminous palette of the Cornish sea — grey-green water, dark moss-covered rock, the pale light of an overcast day — this is a painting about the particular freedom of being alone in a wild place. Of the moment before you turn back.
Small enough to be intimate, beautiful enough to stop you in your tracks.
Oil on canvas. 46 x 56cm. White framed and ready to hang.
Materials + Care
For original paintings: painted on canvas or board using acrylic, resin or mixed media. Hang away from direct sunlight and damp. Dust gently with a soft dry cloth. Do not clean with water or solvents. For canvas prints: printed on a poly-cotton blend canvas with a matte/satin finish, scratch, crack and warp resistant. Wipe gently with a barely damp cloth if needed. For paper prints: printed on premium fine art paper. Handle with care — avoid moisture and direct sunlight to preserve colours.
