Leaf Montage with Elephants Ear Plant

Mixed media on Board. 60 x 60 cm

You know that feeling of stepping into a garden that has been left entirely to itself where everything grows over everything else, where no single plant dominates, and so the whole thing has become something wilder and more extraordinary than anyone planned?

This painting is that feeling.

Layer upon layer of leaf forms printed, painted, cut and collaged building a world of extraordinary richness and depth. Monstera, fern, rust-coloured bay, teal eucalyptus, blue-veined tropical leaves, each one rendered in a different technique, overlapping and interweaving across a deep dark ground that makes every colour sing.

The white-veined elephant ear sits at the heart of it all — contrasting and quietly commanding against the smaller leaves. Around it, the composition moves and breathes like a living thing.

This is a painting for someone who finds joy in the natural world. Who notices the particular green of a fern frond in morning light. Who wants their walls to feel as alive as the garden outside.

Hang it somewhere you pass every day. It will never look exactly the same twice.

Mixed media on canvas. Ready to hang.

Also available as a canvas print.
