Cliff Contours

Mixed media on canvas. 120 cm Square

A cliff face is never one thing. Look closely and it reveals itself as a sections of rock compressed together over millions of years, each with its own colour, texture and history, held together by fault lines and time.

This large painting maps that complexity with extraordinary confidence. A bold central form, part cliff, part coastline, part something altogether harder to name emerges from a vast pale ground, its interior divided into sections of black, grey, gold and warm ochre. As with the evolution of a cliffs face , each section carries its own surface hatched, printed, collaged, scratched, a different geological moment caught in paint.

The scale matters here. This is a painting that commands a wall and changes a room. That rewards every return visit with something new to find.

This painting has a partner too , both work together hung as a pair but work equally as well hung alone.

Mixed media on canvas. Large format. Ready to hang.
