It's the boldest of the three, and it steps out of the vase and straight into the garden.

Three red hot pokers rise up tall and proud, their flame-coloured heads built up in thick, knobbly texture that you can almost feel. At their feet, long strappy leaves swoop and fan outwards in dark charcoal, drawn with real speed and energy. Slender blue-grey flower spikes drift between them, and behind everything there's a sky of duck-egg blue, sage and streaks of sunny yellow, as if a breeze is blowing straight through the picture.

It's framed behind glass in a natural wood frame, which brings a lovely warmth and keeps the paper surface protected for years to come.

It would be striking on its own in a hallway or a garden room, and wonderful hung alongside its sister paintings, Flower Arrangement with Orchid and Yellow and Green Flower Arrangement.

Prints are also available here.
