It was built to shelter boats from the full force of the Atlantic, and anyone who has seen those dramatic photographs of storm waves crashing clean over the village clock tower will know exactly what kind of sea it stands against.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBut it wasn't the harbour walls alone that made me want to paint it. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis painting is my response to the boulders just around the corner at a nearby cove. The foreground is built from layered, collaged pebble forms, moss greens, sea teals, slate greys, a flash of warm pink,  every one made individually, the way the sea makes every real pebble individually.
