Of the three, this is the quiet one: soft, misty and a little dreamlike.

Orchid stems, trailing silver leaves and a tall pink flower head are drawn in loose, confident charcoal, then painted over and scratched back again. Behind them, gentle blocks of ochre and plum suggest vases, or a windowsill. They sit in a hazy wash of grey, sage and the faintest blush pink, like early morning light through a window.

Look closely and you'll find the small things: a dandelion clock, a fine scratch in the surface, a leaf only half there. It's still life, but it doesn't feel still. You can see Rachel's hand in every line.

At a full metre square, glazed and framed, it has real presence. It would work beautifully in a calm living space or a bedroom.
